Databases power nearly every cloud-native application, yet they remain one of the most overlooked components in platform engineering. When LLM-powered co-pilots author schema changes alongside our devs, building proper platform guardrails is no longer optional - it's essential.
This talk uncovers the critical gaps that application developers face in database schema management—gaps that hinder productivity, increase operational risk, and complicate DevOps processes. We’ll explore how integrating schema management into developer platforms can bridge these gaps, enabling teams to treat database changes as a seamless part of their workflows.
